About FC Academy

Future Colonels Academy is a specialized program designed to develop young basketball talent while fostering strong connections among classmates who will one day play together at Oldham County High School. As a feeder system, the academy focuses on teaching the proper way to play basketball, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

By training and competing alongside their future teammates, players not only improve their individual skills but also build the chemistry and camaraderie that will serve them well in their high school careers. Future Colonels Academy is the perfect steppingstone for young athletes who aspire to represent Oldham County on the court.

What to Expect at the Future Colonels Academy

A typical day at Future Colonels Academy is designed to maximize your child’s development through a balance of skill work and live competition. Here’s how we structure each session:

Skill Development (First 45 Minutes):
Players rotate through skill stations led by OCBC staff, focusing on basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive techniques. Training also includes instruction on offensive and defensive principles, ensuring players develop a well-rounded understanding of the game.

Live Competition (Last 45 Minutes):
The second half of the session brings the skills learned into action through live competition and controlled scrimmages. Players participate in 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 matchups, along with a variety of mini-games designed to enhance their skills, decision-making, and basketball IQ. All games are coached and officiated by OCBC staff to ensure a positive learning experience.
