At Oldham County Basketball Club (OCBC), our focus is on development first. We believe that strong basketball players are built through consistent training, skill development, and meaningful practice—not just playing games. That’s why we’ve designed a program centered on a practice-to-game ratio that ensures our athletes spend more time learning, refining, and improving.
For every game, our players will participate in multiple practices designed to teach core skills like dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and game strategy. Through structured training sessions and controlled scrimmages, players develop a deeper understanding of the game and the confidence to execute under pressure.
This method prioritizes growth over immediate results. By dedicating more time to practices, players can master the fundamentals, improve their basketball IQ, and develop the teamwork needed for success as they progress. While games are important, they serve as a way to showcase what’s been learned in practice—not as the primary focus.
At OCBC, we’re committed to creating well-rounded athletes who are prepared for long-term success on and off the court. Our training-first approach builds the foundation for skills, discipline, and teamwork that will serve our players for years to come.
